Cultural Chinese Wedding at Kooroomba Lavender Vineyard
Q+A with the couple
How was your Wedding Day experience?
The day went really smoothly, and I really appreciated everyone, friends, family and vendors all working together to make our day so magical. I wish it didn’t go by so quickly. Also I wish I also took more selfies and photos that day myself so I could record things from my POV too. Time just went by too quickly!!!!
Your favourite moment of the day was and what you were thinking at that time?
I really loved the quietness of the whole lavendar farm when my bridesmaids were walking down first, and then myself with my dad. That moment walking down felt so surreal. I loved the moment seeing Vety ithe first time at the ceremony. Then we were both crying.
Favourite part of your or your spouses vows or speech?
I like the part when Vety talks about how it wasn’t his magic trick, but it was my magical smile – that was a good tie in hahaha
Was there a special moment of connection you experienced with any of your guests, family or friends?
I remember, I could hear a lot of sniffing when I arrived at the chapel (I wasn’t looking around because I know if would make me cry even more). But I thought it was really cute that Vety’s three sister all cried alot (of course along with my sister and my friend Moey). Also Minh and Jason (Vety’s cousins and groomsmen apparently were also crying). So I thought that was really cute. Also I remeber a moment where Jason came up to me after the ceremony and said “You are locked into the Pham Family now!” that made me very happy too
What are your favourite wedding details?
Claw machine, Ice cream cart, inflatable archery, puzzle adventure. My Wedding Dress! The venue was perfect (with lavender and also green shoots from the vineyard). Everything was just great
Considering your future together, what are you looking forward to the most?
Going on adventures with each other!
The Photographs
“I love that we can be silly together and make each other laugh. We somehow still have so many things to talk about after 12 years together. You look after my family like your own. You are generous with your friends. You always say sorry first even when you don’t have to, and remind us life it’s too short to be mad at each other for too long. I love all the grand gestures you do, like the puzzle hunt every year for my birthday to make me feel special. But I love even more all the little things that you do, like how you always hype up waiters and make them laugh. You always boil hot water for me before going to bed cause you know I like to drink warm water before sleeping. You tell me I am beautiful even when I’m on my scruffier days. You lift me up when I am down and listen to my endless worries. You are always there to motivate me to become a better version of myself but you also tell me you love me as I am, even if I feel like being a couch potato, as long as I am a happy potato. We share many values and common interests, and I love your strong qualities too. You are logical and rational, independent, you are a doer not a procrastinator, and much more decisive. As many of our friends and family know I am an indecisive person, but marrying you was the easiest decision to make. So I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, Christina Chan, take you, Viet Quoc Pham, to be my lawful husband. I will love you forever. I vow I will give you hugs and kisses everyday. Make congee for you when you are feeling sick Not worry us too much about the little things And most importantly, I promise to be present in our moments, whether it be the big celebrations or the quiet routine. I feel like we have only started our journey and there’s so many more adventures that lie ahead of us. I hope we can have many many more 12 years to come”
“It was not my amazing card magic that got us together, it was your magical smile. From that moment we met, I wanted nothing more than to keep you smiling. Whether we’re on grand adventures or just taking a simple walk. Even the toughest challenges, we’ve faced them together, always finding a way to smile. You’ve taught me how to see the greatness in everything we’ve built, the memories we have, the friendships we made. You are my joy, my light, and my greatest adventure. Every day, I wake up excited to explore life with you, face challenges with you, and share every quiet moment with you. Today, I promise to be by your side through it all. To laugh with you, to hold you when things get tough, and to keep that magic in our smiles. Together, I know we can face anything, and each step will be the best adventure of our lives“
