Greg and Anna’s Destination Wedding
This Horizon Byron Bay Wedding has to go down in our books as one of the most intimate and picturesque Weddings we’ve ever photographed!
Greg and Anna wanted their wedding to feel just like an extended family dinner and truly… it did. It was special to witness so much love in the room and be a part of it, even from a distance. Both speeches from the Dad particularly stood out to us as being extremely special. Everyone in the room surely felt how much love both Anna and Greg’s parents have for them!
The day started at Horizon, which has to be one of the most gorgeous venues we’ve ever photographed. The views of the property overlook the rolling hills of the Bryon Bay hinterlands. It was the perfect backdrop for an emotional ceremony, perfect photographs and a warm, intimate evening celebrating Anna and Greg.
With such a flawless event, we thought we’d ask Anna for her thoughts and advice for other brides to be!
Why did you choose to hold your celebration now?
Spring is pretty much the goldilocks zone in Brisbane – a beautiful time of the year, not too cold, not too hot and flowers everywhere.
We got engaged in late Feb in 2016. We both knew exactly what we wanted in life and there was no need for us to wait, so we made it happen in six months.
What were your favourite moments of the day?

What were your favourite wedding details?
Horizon was a stunning venue. Gorgeous house that could accommodate all our family members and we stayed there for 3 nights together. The view from the deck – green hills, cattle grazing in the distance, ocean view with Byron town and lighthouse in the distance. Blue sky and perfect weather anyone could ask for on one’s wedding day. It was the perfect place for our families who have never met before to spend quality time together. It was such a treat to see all of them get along so well. Our parents were so happy and proud and having the entire family under the one roof is a memory that will always be cherished.
How was your experience with Sunlit Studios?
We had Alana as our engagement photo shoot earlier this year and it was an easy decision for us to have Sunlit Studio as our wedding photographers. From the very start to the end, Alana and Cameron remained very professional yet friendly and we believe we had the best photographers ever. The products were stunning and we were very happy we chose Sunlit Studio as our wedding photographers.
What are your best tips for other brides?
– Plan things early, don’t leave it till the last minute because you want to be enjoying the days leading up to the big day, not worrying about organizing the little details.
– Budget generously when planning because there are so many things you haven’t thought about when you first started planning . The overall cost can be more than what you expected initially for many reasons.
– Absorb and enjoy the wedding day, it goes in a flash of light. Try not to focus on the small details or people who are rude on the day. Try to stay positive about the whole experience and don’t be nervous, just be happy and appreciate and be excited about the start of a new chapter in life. It’s all about you.
