Leaning unapologetically into romance, this day was a modern day fairytale. With understated luxury and the elegant backdrop of Kwila Lodge, this concept was bought to life by a carefully curated team of luxury Wedding Vendors.

The Venue
Kwila Lodge is a transformed historic gem that was the perfect setting for a modern day fairytale. With it’s grand elegance, light-filled French glass doors, and intricate architectural details, it made every photograph aesthetically beautiful, soft and flooded with light.
The Gowns
The Electra gown, embellished with delicate lace and flowers, was the perfect billowing dress for that dreamy first dance in the clouds. The next gown by Pearl Bridal, Elisa, bought a modern chic edge with a front split to the reception, staircase and champage tower pour. With a detachable skirt, the Elisa found a balance between romantic and modern.
Florals and Decor
Each décor item was thoughtfully planned by Mel from Melanie Jane Weddings and Events. On the tablescape, she chose clear glass taper candle holders to create a softer, elegant look and feel, and compliment the florals.
The addition of petite custom made chocolates used as place holders for the menus added a balance of fun and excitement for guests as they located their seat, and the sprig of lavender or lily of the valley on the plates just added to beauty and created a frenzy for the eyes.
The florals we chose for the tables were a mixed combination of the florals used to make the floor floral arrangements, we had impact in mind for these with varying soft purples to slightly deeper purples, whites, and whites with a buttery yellow center.
The floor arrangements were made up in clusters to create high impact statement pieces around the base of the tree and cascading down the staircase.
Favourite Design Element
The Fig Tree by Autumn Grove events took the reception and first dance to a new level – creating a focal point that was grand, unique and romantic!
Tips to Pull off the Look
Embrace romance by bringing softness into every aspect – from relaxed wavy hair and makeup, to a soft colour palette, to creating a soft atmosphere with fairy lights and dry ice.
