Q+A with Ana & Oly
How would you describe your relationship?
Fun, loyal, God honouring, committed, always pushing each other to be our best. We often quote Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens Iron so one person sharpens another.“ When it comes to our relationship, I’m unashamedly quoting Taylor Swift’s song “Love Story”, because for years I’ve found myself thinking, “Hey, isn’t this easy?” Life has been so much brighter with Oly in it—I honestly can’t imagine it without him. Through every high and low, we’ve supported each other with unwavering love and commitment, always knowing that no matter what life throws our way, we’’ll support eachother through it all
What would you say your love languages are?
Oly – Quality time Ana – Physical touch / Quality time
When did you decide that you would be together forever? Did any particular moment solidify this?
Ana – I knew very early on that Oly was the person for me, I can think of lots of moments, but one distinct memory comes to mind for me, back in July 2022 – our first trip together! We flew down to see a Glass animals’ concert in Melbourne, as they didn’t have any shows in Queensland. I remember having so much fun at the concert and we were laughing all the way home, singing on the walk home and dancing in the dark at 1AM to Beyonce, it was such a fun night. Oly- There have been so many little moments, but I have a distinct memory of being on the dance floor with Ana at one of my family friend’s wedding. I remember looking around and seeing all of my mates from high school and family having the best time dancing with us and think this is what it’s all about.
What is your favourite memory of your courtship?
Oly (not so subtly) trying to find out my ring size and preferred style
How did your proposal play out?
Like most parts of our relationship…. on a beach!
What are your favourite activities you like to do together?
Any form of sport, we often will run together , surf, rock climb, play tennis, swim or hike when we have the time! When we’re not active we usually love to just chill out and watch movies, play chess, read, go to church and spend quality time together
What is unique about your partner’s personality that makes you love them?
Oly’s kind heart, resilience and his ability to always make those around him feel loved and at ease. Ana’s enthusiasm for life and natural gift of uplifting the life of everyone she interacts with!
Considering your future together, what are you looking forward to the most?
Being there for each other and sharing the adventure of life together
