Caitlyn and Nick’s Sunshine Coast Hinterland Wedding
It had been too long since our last Flaxton Gardens Wedding. If this is the first time hearing of it, then you are in for a real treat.
Perfectly positioned in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, and set on a beautiful vineyard with sweeping views across the Sunshine Coast from Moreton Island to Noosa, Flaxton Gardens promises you a warm welcome and all that you would expect from an award-winning establishment. So when Caitlyn and Nick booked us in, we were ecstatic!
The journey from their Engagement to their Wedding was a difficult one. Poor Nick suffered a back injury that made standing and movement painful. Unable to work for many months, you can imagine the challenges that this couple struggled through. Despite this, Nick rarely complained, and was never one to hold back from getting the best photographs. We applaud his efforts, as well as Caitlyn, to celebrate when the day finally came for them to be married.
We asked Caitlyn and Nick a few questions after their Flaxton Gardens Wedding experience. Their answers were worth a read!
Planning the Wedding
Why did you choose to hold your celebration now?
We Met 12th June 2011 and wanted to have our Wedding as close to the date as possible, without having it on a Wednesday or waiting until it fell on a Saturday. (Caitlyn was impatient and wanted Nick to hurry up and marry her)
What were your favourite moments of the day?
Caitlyn’s favourite moment from the day was using the smoke emitters to get photographs. Nick doesn’t have a specific moment from the day that he liked more then the whole day itself but he enjoyed the “surprise” Caitlyn had planned for him and being congratulated out of the ceremony.
What was the most stressful part about planning your wedding?
Planning the wedding went smoothly, Caitlyn had everything organised 8 months out from the wedding so we had no stress. Family was the hardest, which we have heard is common.
What were your favourite wedding details (a special venue, a unique dress, a fun cake etc.)?
Caitlyn’s Galia Lahav – Loretta Dress, absolutely stunning, Flaxton Gardens Venue absolutely helpful in every aspect made our life so much easier and the beautiful cake made by Chocolate 2 Chilli.
Your experience working with Sunlit Studios?
Sunlit was very professional every time we spoke with them through email or met with them in person. Cameron is very easy to communicate with and is open to new ideas, because of this the ideas that we had have been made into fantastic photos that we are in awe of, our family and friends can’t stop saying how amazing they are!
The Brides Top Tips
Plan ahead and choose all vendors to leave yourself enough time before the wedding to not have to do anything and be stressed. ( I did 6 – 8 months before the wedding, I chose flowers last). Use a budget Tracker in excel to make sure you are not going over your financial contributions.
If you want to preserve your flowers, choose this prior to the wedding, at least 3 months before. Organise someone from the bridal party / parents to drop off to the vendors house – print this out as a separate sheet for the friend/family member. Write a list of all your vendors, numbers and email addresses so you can hand that out to your husband-to-be and bridal party.
Write a list of everything required for the wedding as a checklist, make one for yourself and husband to be, put these in an A4 plastic folder in 2 different colours for ease and peace of mind so you know nothing is missed, each time these are put in / taken out of the car check the list again.
