First Birthday Photography Brisbane is what we do. After years of photographing other parent’s one-year-old children and thinking just how adorable little humans are on their first birthday, we finally get just how much more this first birthday photo shoot means. We finally get it.
It’s the sacrifice that initially bonds you so much. The nausea and pregnancy pains over long nine months, the appropriately dramatic entrance to meet the little love of your life. Then, the sleepless nights begin – which isn’t made easier if you struggled with mastitis and multiple infections like we did. I remember struggling to do up her onesie one night because even my fingers were so bone weary! Pushing the buttons together literally took more strength then I had. Every sacrifice somehow makes you love them more. You simply love them more, because you have already put so much of yourself into them.
Then it happens. That first long stare into your eyes at 3am. That first giggle. That rush of joy when they turn over for the first time!
Everyday starts to require less sacrifice. The pains stop and they start sleeping through. Now instead of sacrifice bonding you, it’s them that gives you more. It really is like falling in love. You have the absolute privilege of seeing their personality come to life. They absolutely light up your day with joy as they fill your home with cuddles, funny noises and crazy expressions.
You could barely tell Chloe was a ginger as a newborn. Most people thought it was just a tinge that would quickly change. Yet here she is at one year, with fiery auburn hair and blue eyes, full of a cheeky, adventurous and affectionate personality we love so dearly.
That’s why we love celebrating that first birthday. As much as we loved Chloe deeply before we had even met her, now we have truly fallen in love with who she is.
That’s why we had to include Missy in the shoot – how much fun these two have together now! Sure it started with paw-pulling and she still loves touching Missy’s eyes, but Missy makes Chloe laugh her head off now!
It’s also why we just had to capture her favourite expression – it’s called the ‘scrunchy-nose-excited-sniffing’ face. You can see her enjoying a good sniff with her dad in the fourth photo.
Chloe, we just love you more then photos or words could ever capture. This is our way of trying to slow down our time with you because from one day to the next, you are growing up way too fast! We hope these photos remind you as you grow up, just how much we adore you. Everything you were, everything you are, and everything you are yet to become!
