Capturing Jess & Rod’s Gold Coast Engagement Portrait was such a pleasure and a great way to get to know them before their Wedding!
We’re super excited to capture them again and think the results speak for themselves here – our paths were meant to cross!
Rod shares their proposal story – we love how things never go to plan!
“Rod purchased the engagement ring for Jess in early October. After carefully planning on how to pick it up without Jess suspecting or finding it, Rod set about working out how he would propose. Rod decided on a beautiful mid-october Sunday afternoon that he was going to propose to Jess on the back deck at Sunset. Jess told Rod that she was going to take the dog for a quick walk. Rod thought this was a fantastic idea as it would give him time to let both sets of parents know that this was happening and still be able to catch up with Jess and the dog for some of the walk. After making the calls to the parents, who were over the moon, Rod quickly jogged up the street to catch up with Jess for the walk back to the house. The sunset was looking glorious and the scene was set, Rod even had the ring in his pocket. When Rod caught up with Jess she thought that seeing as he was here, they would take the dog on a longer walk as it was such a lovely afternoon and Jess knew the dog would really like it. Rod was horrified – his best laid plans were about to torpedoed. Rod tried to suggest that perhaps the dog didn’t really want to go for a long walk and that it was getting a bit late so it would probably be a good idea to head home but Jess (and the dog) were having none of it. During the walk Rod was extremely nervous as he had the ring in his pocket and it was beginning to get dark. Rod was also worried about what he would do, as he had told both sets of parents that this was happening and they were both waiting to hear whether Jess had accepted or not. By the time they all god home it was completely dark. So Rod set about improvising on his plan. Jess went into the bedroom to put away the washing. Rod called Jess out and told her that he had something she needed to see. Jess walked out to see Rod on one knee with the ring in his hand and the rest they say, is history!”
