How did you decide on the date and venue?
From the moment Jiah and I were engaged we knew we wanted a summer wedding located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Maleny. We discussed several dates that we thought maybe be suitable and promptly called our venue to ensure the dates we were hopeful for was in fact available. We quickly discovered that the date available in the summer months of 2017 was actually to be my 30th birthday. What a perfect was to celebrate our marriage and my 30th all in one with those we hold so dear to us. (Jiah says he is lucky as he now only has to remember of each date for our anniversary and my birthday).We quickly secured the day and placed a deposit immediately.
What was your favourite moment from the day?
My favourite of seeing the one in which my heart holds so dear as i stepped into the arch way of the chapel and surprising my groom with pictures of his three girls whom unfortunately not attend on the day. Jiah says it was the moment he had discovered the secret I was holding (pictures of the girls), seeing his bride for the first time and gifting me a day a girl could only dream of.
How did you personalise your Wedding to YOU?
My flowers were made by my now mother in law, the guest globe, wishing well and all signage was created by Jiah and myself. I believe it’s all the little touches that make your wedding memorable and personal to you as a couple, these are the things that make your day unique.
Would you like to you share a favourite part of your vows?
“They say that when two people have suffered find each other the bond is like Steele and today this confirms just that. I am so proud of all the battles you have overcome and all the while keeping a positive attitude towards all that you do” – Steph. “You have guided me to be who I am today. You have stood by me through everything and never backed down or tried to run in the other direction. I am the man i am today because of you” – Jiah.
Tell us about your experience with Sunlit Studios?
Our experience with Sunlit Studios has been nothing short of exceptional. Cameron is a hands on company Director and nothing is too much trouble. We were lucky to work with Elizabeth for both our engagement shoot and also the wedding (Sunlit Studios’ policy). The consistency of having the same photographer allows you to build a relationship with them and in turn makes your experience all that more perfect. Ray, the second photographer from the wedding ensured the bridal party was entertained and within minutes felt as though this dynamic duo was part of our family. From the initial consultation to the album planning Sunlit Studios provided us with several reasons as to why we chose them as our photographers in the first place. Not only is their work impeccable but they are a company that understands you as a client.
Do you have any tips for other brides?
Ensure you make your day your own, personalise where possible and always engage with your fiancé (they’re becoming more involved and secretly love it im sure) Allow yourself some time to take a breath. The day can become overwhelming with everyone wanting to see and speak with you. It’s ok to take some time out. ENJOY EVERY MINUTE! You deserve it.
