Jaylyn and Robert’s Gold Coast Hinterland Engagement Session ~
In the golden glow of a Gold Coast Hinterland sunset, Jaylyn and Robert’s engagement session was an absolute dream! These Tamborine Mountain engagement photos capture not just the essence of their love, but also the promise of their upcoming 2024 wedding, a celebration sure to be as breathtaking as the mountain vista itself. Against the backdrop of the stunning views over the Scenic Rim and Great Dividing Ranges, it was clear that their connection is very special – they laughed, embraced, and just simply enjoyed one anothers company during their engagement shoot. We can’t wait to photograph these two again soon!
Q+A with the couple
How did the two of you first meet?
Our best friends were dating and conspired to introduce us. Rob made a 4 hour drive to visit us and we hit it off straight away
When did you first tell each other that you loved them? Was it at the same time?
We met on 26 Sep 2014 and we both said it 2 months later on 28 Nov 2014
When did you decide that you would be together forever? Did any particular moment/s solidify this?
There was no specific moment, but I feel we both knew pretty early on. There has never been any hesitation in any of our steps (moving in together, etc.)
What is your favourite memory of your courtship?
To this day, it is still very contested as to which one of our best friends introduced us. Nick and Chauntell are no longer together but still good friends with each other and they argue constantly about who is “responsible” for our relationship
How did your proposal play out?
We were in Queenstown for a holiday with Jay’s best friend Chauntell and her husband Chris. They were in on the proposal the entire time and we had planned a separate boys day and girls day as a ruse so Chris and Rob could check into our new AirBnB and set-up for the proposal with the help of an engagement coordinator. While the girls went on a cruise, the boys quickly ran all over Queenstown taking photos doing activities and drinking beers so they could send them to the girls slowly during the day to make it look like the boys were up to no good together. The boys then checked into the AirBnB and lined from the entrance to the living room with flowers, candles and photos of Rob and Jay’s relationship from when they first met to now. There were little notes with each photo that told their story. In the living room was a floral arch overlooking the lake and hills with Rob waiting underneath. Once the girls got back from their cruise, Chris went and picked them up and brought them back. Everything went really well to plan!
What is your favourite couple activity?
Travelling and snowboarding
What is unique about your partner’s personality that makes you love them?
We both strive for the best and we feel this makes both us better people and push even harder at everything we do. We also just enjoy being in each other’s presence and can easily do nothing all day but sit and hangout
Considering your future together, what are you looking forward to the most?
We’re sure not much will change once we’re married and we just look forward to continuously building our life together and travelling
