The thing we loved most about these Brisbane Country Wedding Photos is that Samantha and Dean truly made the event a personal reflection of them. Set on Dean’s Mum’s property, the ceremony had a gorgeous paddock atmosphere and we even had the opportunity to go next door to take photos with some very handsome horses! Sam and Dean’s two kids of course took cuteness levels to dangerous heights and we simply loved being a part of such a beautiful celebration of family, love and commitment.
Samantha and Dean did a ‘first look’, taking a private moment to see each other for the first time before the ceremony.
We love outdoor marquee wedding receptions too. They just have such a different feel to them and are truly spectacular if lots of fairy lights are used! At the reception, we prepared a same-day slideshow of the photos for Sam, Dean and the guests to enjoy. The day rushes by so fast, it was wonderful to have a moment to appreciate everything that had already happened.
Words from Samantha and Dean:
Dean and I were engaged in 2013 and decided we wanted to start a family before tying the knot. Things didn’t happen as quickly as we expected so we planned the wedding, low and behold we then found out I was finally pregnant and our first baby was due the day after our wedding date.
We postponed the wedding to 2017 and we are so glad we did because we now have two beautiful children that we were thankful to share our special day with.
Our favourite moment was our first dance as a married couple. It was the perfect moment to just focus on each other.
Planning our wedding was going to be easy as we had hired a wedding planner but 7 months out she cancelled on us. With 2 kids to look after while also looking to get back in to the work force and only 7 months to go I really thought it wasn’t going to come together but we did it.
While we went for a ‘simple’ wedding on Dean’s Mums property, the clear marquee with all the fairy lights really looked amazing when the sun went down and we forgot where we were for a few hours.
Sunlit Studios were absolutely amazing. We can both be pretty awkward in front of a camera but there was not one moment during the day that this awkwardness set in. Alana really read who we are and made us feel relaxed and comfortable the entire day. Most of the day we actually forgot we even had photographers there.
I could write so many tips for future brides because there were so many things that didn’t go to plan however the best thing to remember is just that. Things don’t always go to plan. Don’t let it ruin your day, every problem has a solution. We were so relaxed on the day that when problems arose we just laughed, came up with a solution and moved on.
