This Riverlife Kangaroo Point Brisbane Wedding will forever be one we keep in our hearts! Julianna and Christopher treated us as though we were honoured guests and we truly felt honoured to be a part of such a special moment in their lives.
The ceremony took place at the Brisbane Registry of Marriages – which meant we needed the entire ceremony and family photos to be finished within half an hour. This would usually be quite tight timing, but as the celebrant kept things short, sweet and simple, we were allowed full control then to direct everyone! It was a stunning room and a beautiful place to start such a gorgeous day.
From there, we celebrated at Riverlife Weddings along the Brisbane river, which was so picturesque, relaxed and perfect for Julianna and Chris to spend hours socialising and enjoying great food with their guests.
Julianna shares her thoughts and experiences below!
“Chris and I knew it from the beginning that we want a simple but elegant wedding. We chose Riverlife as our wedding venue for an afternoon outdoor reception on a warm blue-sky autumn day, on a wooden deck next to the Brisbane River. We didn’t have a care in the world, except to enjoy those few hours in a romantic spot along the Brisbane River where we could keep those we love and care about – families close and afar, dear friends and wonderful colleagues, very close by our side. To make sure they are part of this very memorable moment in our life.
During the day, I especially love the moment when I was giving my brief speech. The first half of my speech was delivered in Chinese where I thanked my parents for loving and caring for me for all these years. This part had brought tears to both my mother’s and my eyes. Without an understanding of what I said, many of my Australian guests felt the emotion and started to become teary as well. This was a very special moment at my wedding because my guests were in tune with me. And when you talk with your heart, language boundaries and cultural differences disappear.
We thank our photographers from Sunlit Studios who have made the day easy for us. We discussed briefly before our reception about the photos we love to see. They have our complete trust and confidence in capture images which can tell our story. Our photos are natural and amazing, love those true expressions on my guests’ faces.
My advice for all the bride-to-be is to enjoy the day as everything will be fine. Even they may not turn out to be how you have planned, these little hiccups will only add depth to make your day more special. What is important is you are being surrounded by people you love and people who love you on this very special day of your life, nothing else matters anymore.”
