What a beautiful autumn day we had photographing the union of Krystyn and Joyi for their Cedar Creek Lodges Tamborine Mountain Wedding!
For this couple, what they said means the most about their wedding day is celebrating the union of two best friends and sharing that moment with their most dearest friends and family. An excerpt from their ceremony sums it up beautifully!
“It is a privilege to share your life with your dearest friend and cherished lover, and marriage signifies togetherness while still being your own person. It also satisfies a desire to be loved, to give love, to provide support and encouragement and to embrace the new and exciting possibilities that your life together can offer. Marriage is a work of love. It calls for two people to remain individual while building around themselves a world they call their own. Krystyn and Joey: you have already committed to each other as best friends and companions and from this moment forward, you will commit to each other as life partners. You fell in love by chance, but you’re here today because you’re making a choice. You both are choosing each other. You’ve chosen to be with someone who enhances you, who makes you think, makes you smile, and makes every day brighter”.
Krystyn and Joyi shared their thoughts about their wedding day.
Why did you choose to hold your celebration now?
We chose to hold our wedding in May for the weather as it’s not to hot not too cold on mount tamborine at this time of year. We wanted to get married up in the mountain as that is where we got engaged almost two years before.
What were your favourite moments of the day?
Our favorite moments from our big day were our ceremony. We had the perfect celebrant Erin who perfectly captured us and our quirky humor and made all our guest feel welcome while perfectly setting the tone for the rest of the day. We loved the speeches given by our bridal party and fathers as well as being surrounded by those we hold dearest to us on such an important day.
What was the most stressful part about planning your wedding?
Honestly there wasn’t anything too stressful in the whole organizing thing. We were both of the opinion that as long as we ended up married at the end of the day it was a success anything on top of that was just gravy.
We both knew we couldn’t control every tiny little detail of what was going to happen so we didn’t stress over things but hiring excellent vendors (such as yourselves, our venue and Erin our celebrant) we knew we could rely on to do their jobs without fault meant we didn’t have to worry.
That would be my advice to other brides. Don’t get hooked up in having to have every thing a certain way. let it go don’t worry about the wedding as such but focus instead on what’s best for you both as a couple. A wedding is one day your marriage is forever (hopefully). Also have a rain back up planned in advance don’t get to a week out and be freaking out over the chance of rain. That was one of the things that attracted us to our venue their excellent ceremony and reception options meant weather wouldn’t affect our celebrations too much. Oh and pay more attention to your wedding day timeline. (Sorry Cameron)
What were your favourite wedding details (a special venue, a unique dress, a fun cake etc.)?
Bride: One of my favorite details of our wedding was the framed photo of my grandma on the mantle over the fire with her favorite flowers. My grandma loved Joyi he was her favorite grandchild even though she was my grandmother. She didn’t make it to see us get married as she suddenly passed away earlier this year So this was our way of having her with us.
Groom: the amphitheater where we had our ceremony was my favorite detail as it photographed really well. (the bride would like to add he doubted me with the addition of the rug and the vintage crates but now admits they helped transform the space into something extra special)
Your experience working with Sunlit Studios
Working with the sunlit team was seamless and stress free. They captured our day with utmost professionalism while still making us feel like we had a friend taking our photos (there was no awkward feelings at any point even when we were kissing and had a camera pointed right at us which let’s face it isn’t the norm) and they made us feel like nothing was too hard for them. From our engagement shoot through to our wedding day they have been an absolute dream team and we would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding.
Congratulations Krystyn and Joyi on your wonderful Wedding and new lives together, we were so honoured to be invited to photograph these precious memories!
