Our Photography Tutorial takes place at our studio and one of our gorgeous shoot locations just minutes away. We’ll work through the topics chosen at your own pace, practice some principles hands-on and review your current portfolio.
We then put into practice everything that has been taught by photographing a real portrait session together! During this portrait session, we can alternate taking control and applying principles or you can simply watch how we work and practice your new techniques. After the portrait session, we’ll have some time to review the photographs, reinforce principles and answer any last questions.
The following topics are covered at your own learning pace:
Investment: $950 for 4 hours including a full hour of shooting with models, detailed take home information and two weeks of email support.

Our Editing Tutorial will show you just how endless the possibilities are with the right skills and knowledge! Editing can make all the difference to your photography and it’s importance is frequently underestimated. This tutorial takes place in our studio at any time of the day that best suits you.

Our Business Tutorial is the absolute best way to jump start your business and completely open your eyes! Photographers too quickly burn out because they do not invest equal time and effort into increasing their business skills. Simple knowledge and strategy can save you years of trial and error, and start earning you thousands of dollars more straight away.
In our business tutorials, we don’t hold back. We’ll share exactly how we run a successful photography studio and everything we’ve learned along the way. We’ll answer any questions you have and really take a hands on approach in bettering your business, branding and strategies.
We’ll tailor the day to your specific needs, but usually cover the following content:

Alana founded Sunlit Studios in 2010. Due to rapid success and growth, she quickly began expanding her team and training other photographers. She even turned her husband Cameron, who was an accountant, into a talented photographer! Her success has been noted throughout the industry, from interviews to published articles on the Digital Photography School website. Recently awarded 2023 Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year, her friendly personality combined with her creativity makes her a unique, inspiring teacher!

Our tutorials are perfect for someone who needs that helping, patient hand in grasping technical concepts as well as helping you figure out what elements you wish to add to your photography.
We are situated between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, in Pimpama.
The Photography Tutorial starts at our studio, then we move to one of our Photography locations for the live shoot (only 15 minutes away).
The Editing Tutorial takes place at our studio in Pimpama.
The Business Tutorial ideally takes place in our studio, but can also be done through zoom.
If you are in your first five years of business, you are likely to still find a huge amount of inspiration from learning our techniques, styles and wisdom from the last 14 years. Having Alana identify strengths and weakness in your current work can help give you not only direction, but the tools to get there.
Alana still explores her style and tries to push her creativity to this day. She believes we never should stop learning as photographers!
If you have an SLR, that’s all you need. We actually recommend that you DON’T purchase expensive lens before the tutorial – because our students learn so much about lenses, what to look for and how to best use them. Our students usually have a wish list by the end of the Photography Tutorial!
You can choose!
We plan the shoot based around your desired niche – be it family, couple, maternity or newborn.
You can also use it as an opportunity to try a different style of shoot and see how our sessions run!
We use teach both Lightroom and Photoshop.
Lightroom is essential, and if you don’t have Photoshop yet, we can always introduce it to you!

I can't even begin to describe how amazing Sunlit Studios are!
