Adora Downs – how many gems could there possibly be around the country town of Toowoomba? We could not believe our eyes when we arrived to capture Emma and Steven’s Adora Downs Wedding!
As we pulled into the Mt Tyson property (just west of Toowoomba), we drove along the dirt road, passed the olive grove, passed the scattered native Australian trees, and pulled up aside one of the many cabins (picture a mini-homestead) where Steven and the boys were getting ready. We learned that all the guests had stayed in the cabins over night and had a bit of a pre-wedding party! Having the accomodation for all the guests was so convenient, and made spreading the celebrations out over a few days even easier.
Here is Emma’s own words on the venue carefully selected by her and her now-husband Steven: “Adora Downs was everything we ever dreamed of and so much more. Our ‘destination’ wedding in the middle of the bush. Won over by the relaxed country feel, we couldn’t go past a barn, fairy lights, old queenslanders, a good country feed and the opportunity to spend a few days with our loved ones.”
One of the best features of having accomodation, ceremony and reception all at one venue was time and hassle saved moving the bridal party and guests around. It gives more time for things that really matter – like photography! 🙂
Straight from the Ceremony, we were able to move around to various locations on the huge property, taking advantage of flowers in bloom, a bus converted into a move theatre, sheds and more, all within a few minutes walk from each other.
Looking at Emma and Steven, so obviously in love in their photographs, you would have never guessed that they came in worried they are awkward or uncomfortable in photographs. We actually hear that a lot, and in reply, we say “don’t worry – you just haven’t had amazing photographers before!”.
Congratulations Emma and Steven! Thanks for introducing us to yet another venue we just HAVE to visit again!
